A Few Upcoming Meetings and Events in and around Mt. Rainier - Friday, September 14, 2007
Mon. September 18 – 7 PM September’s Chat with the Chief of PoliceAt the police station.
This month's chat will focus on the state of the City's Emergency Preparedness Commission (EPC) and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Both of these vital organizations have received less than optimal support over the past year and we need to talk about ways to recruit new volunteers in order to revitalize them. Mount Rainier's CERT coordinator Tonie Davis will attend to discus CERT operations and training.
As always, the Chief will make time to discuss any other topic or issue about which residents or business owners have a concern.

If you've never been to an open house sponsored by the DC GlassWorks, you're
really missing something!
Their next open house is this Saturday from 3:30 to 8:30 at 5346 46th Ave in
Hyattsville (a little behind Franklin's). You can get directions from their
web-site: www.dcglassworks.com.

magic as they create beautiful vases and other glass objects while you watch.
Sunday 9 AM 2-3 Mile Fun Run
Join the Mt. Rainier Runners in a 2-3 mile fun run through Mt. Rainier, Brentwood and North Brentwood. If you run more than that, you can keep on going and if you run less than that, we'll let you know how to get back.
We don't go too fast and there is no obligation to keep up if you just want to join us at the beginning.
It'll be nice and cool so there are no more excuses about it being too hot to run.
We're meeting this Sunday at 9 AM at 4213 34th St. (corner of Tilden).
If you can't join us this Sunday but would like to know about future 'runs' please send me a note.
